Parents are worried for their children's safety not only when they're on their way to school or on a school trip: they're nervous about them being hurt even inside the school.

A new poll by Beterem, the National Center for Children's Safety and Health, shows that nearly half of all parents believe their children are not protected against accidents in their schools. Only 45% of the parents thought their youngsters' schools were safe.

Last year, there were some 10,000 reported accidents in educational institutions serving children aged three to 18. Fully 80% of all parents queried favored closing schools with dangers that were liable to cause …
