What: Latest installment in a venerable football series. Details: This year's update adds Al Michaels's commentary to John Madden's chatter and throws in a "Create-a-Playbook" tool that lets you combine receiver routes and player formations. The PlayStation 2 version also supports painless online game play and roster updates over Sony's Network Adaptor, but the Xbox edition won't support Microsoft's Xbox Live online gaming service. Other features new to 2003 include extra gang tackles, sidearm-throwing QBs, cheerleader halftime shows and a mini-camp mode, far superior to other games' practice modes, where you can run through drills and situations.
