Warshaw, CEO of Chiquita Brands International Inc., recently celebrated the signing of an accord between the European Union and the US that is the beginning of the end of the EU's preferential treatment of bananas from former colonies in Africa and the Caribbean. As a result, Chiquita and other exporters that source their supplies from South and Central America will be able to sell more of the yellow fruit in European markets.
