DENVER -- Moderate endurance exercise counters the impairment of immune function that is characteristic of breast cancer patients, Dr. Christiane Peters reported at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society.
In addition to immunologic improvements, participation in an exercise training program also results in improved patient satisfaction with life in a dose-dependent fashion; specifically, the more frequently breast cancer patients attended group workouts, the greater their self-reported satisfaction with life, according to Dr. Peters of the German Sports University, Cologne.
