Pontianak, W Kalimantan, Aug 31 (ANTARA) - The many empty seats for special guests from Jakarta, including 20 ambassadors, at the opening of an Equatorial Cultural Festival (FBBK) 2002, might have been caused by the thick smog which has been blanketing Pontianak, West Kalimantan province, in the last few weeks.

The ambassadors did not explain the reason of their absence, but it was strongly assumed that the blame should be put on the smog, head of the West Kalimantan Cultural and Tourism Office Herzi Hamidi said here Friday on the sidelines of a seminar on Chinese culture to develop and promote West …
