Jakarta, July 27 (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri called an impromptu cabinet meeting at the state palace here on Saturday mid-morning.

Held just five days to the opening of the annual session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) on Aug 1, the cabinet meeting gave an impression of being "impromptu" because the president had no schedule for the day, let alone preside over a meeting.

What is more, cabinet meetings are usually held at the main building of the State Secretariat, not at the state palace.
