Taipei, July 11, 2002 (CENS)--Palm Inc., the world's largest personal digital assistant (PDA) manufacturer, recently placed contract orders for PDAs from Taiwan's Inventec Appliance Corp. and Asustek Computer Inc

Asustek and Inventec Appliance will produce Palm's new-generation PDAs powered by Intel PXA250 microprocessors

Asustek is expected to begin trial production of the new-generation Palm PDAs by the end of this year. The company estimates it will be able to churn out 200,000 units of the PDA model in the first quarter of next year
