There has been no scarcity of Bob Marley reissues on the market since the reggae patriarch's death in 1981, the best of them issued under Island Records' Tuff Gong imprint in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 2001 the label upped the ante with a series of "Deluxe Editions," all of them two-disc sets featuring digitally remastered sound and an additional album's worth of remixes, alternate versions, rarities, and dub mixes. The most unusual and daring of these deluxe reissues was Catch a Fire, the Wailers' major-label debut, originally issued in 1973.
