Belgrade, 1 September: Miodrag Vukovic, member of the Constitutional Commission from the Democratic Party of Socialists [DPS], said today that it was absolutely not true that the latest text of the constitutional charter drawn up by the Democratic Opposition of Serbia [DOS] had been coordinated with Montenegro and the DPS.
It is absolutely unacceptable for deputies in the federal parliament to be elected directly; if such corrections continue to occur, then the work is poorly done, Vukovic told B92 TV. He added that the charter on human and minority rights was problematic and unacceptable, too.
The DOS's proposal is an inter-Serbian agreement, and it brings the agreement between DOS and the DPS back to square one, Vukovic noted.
Contrary to this opinion, Dragoljub Micunovic, co-chairman of the Constitutional Commission and speaker of the Federal Assembly's Chamber of Citizens, insists that the proposal of delegates' assemblies [delegatske skupstine] cannot be defended. By insisting on this, the DPS favours the stance that no state exists at the moment and that everything needs to be done from the beginning, Micunovic told B92 TV.
