PERTH, July 31 AAP - South African miner AngloGold Ltd today announced the acquisition of Perez Companc International's interest in Cerro Vanguardia S.A. (CVSA) for $US90 million ($A166.2 million).

The deal will take AngloGold's stake in the Argentinean mining operation of Cerro Vanguardia to 92.5 per cent.

AngloGold and Perez Companc each owned 46.25 per cent in CVSA which owns the exclusive right to exploit the Cerro Vanguardia mine in Patagonia in the Santa Cruz Province of Argentina.

The Santa Cruz state mining company, Fomento Minero de Santa Cruz Sociedad del Estado, has 7.5 per cent in CVSA and has advised AngloGold …
