A new Emir has been appointed for Lapai town in Niger State.

He is Alhaji Umaru Bago Tafida who is the 12th Emir of the Town. Aged 48, Alhaji Bago Tafida succeeds late Emir Alhaji Muhammadu Kobo who died last week at the age of 92 years after ruling for 48 years.

Speaking while presenting the letter of appointment to the stool to the new Emir, the state governor Engineer Abdulkadir Kure called on him to live by example in order not to mislead his people.
