Opposition politician Marcus Dahn appears to have a different perspective about Liberian-American relations. He believes the relations need to be nurtured and not confrontational.
He said Liberia should adopt a constructive approach with the United States to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
Dahn, a stalwart, of the United People's Party (UPP), said there should be ways that Liberia should be able to talk to America without aggravating the United States, which he termed as "big brother."
"...Whether we like it or not, America is the super power, and we have been closely associated with America for a long time," Dr. Dahn, who is visiting Liberia from the United States, pointed out. "There should be ways that we should be able to talk to big brother without aggravating big brother."
The UPP stalwart made the statement yesterday during an interview with The News newspaper at a local hotel.
