The City of Windhoek last night reversed its earlier order that Democratic Media Holdings move from its premises along Omuramba Road in Windhoek's Eros suburb.
The Council meeting approved a recommendation by the Management Committee that a consultant be appointed to probe the impact of noise from the DMH premises on nearby residents.
The consultant is expected to recommend measures to lessen the noise coming from the printing press in the building.
In September last year, the Council instructed DMH to cease its printing operations in Omuramba Road.
The company then enlisted the services of Plan Africa Consult to lodge an application seeking consent to operate as an industrial building in terms of the provisions of the Town Planning Scheme.
