President Yoweri Museveni has sacked the chairman of the Electoral Commission Haji Aziz Kasujja and five commissioners.
Those sacked are Kasujja's deputy Flora Nkurukenda, commissioners Ted Wamusi, Robert Kitariko, Charles Dickens Owiny and Hajati Hadijja Miiro Nassanga.
Only one commissioner, Sister Margaret Magoba, remains.
According to a press release by Museveni's Press Secretary Mary Karooro Okurut, Kasujja was ordered to hand over to Sister Magoba.
" President Yoweri Museveni has, in exercise of the powers vested in him by Article 60, retired in public interest the chairman of the Electoral Commission Al Haj Aziz Kalungi Kasujja together with all the other commissioners," reads part of the brief press release.
