The day Uganda should have got down to drilling its first oil well in the Semliki valley has been shifted to the second or third week of August.
The plan to drill, according to Heritage Oil and Gas Limited's program, had been set for Aug.1.
Government now reports that "the new date could be shorter than Aug.3 or longer than anticipated. But Heritage Oil and Gas Limited is working around the clock to make it shorter."
The company plans to install satellite communication soon to enable them send data quickly when the actual drilling starts.
"Five boreholes have already been constructed; four to supply the rig and one for the camp's water needs," a government official explains.
