(From Ghanaian Chronicle: AAGM)
Byline: Howard Scott.
People's National Convention (PNC) Flagbearer Dr. Edward Mahama has outlined the Party's stance on the key issues affecting the nation, at a press conference in Accra yesterday.
Dr. Mahama appealed to Ghanaians to set aside political affiliations in the task for a unified objective and challenged the nation: "Our views in the PNC are correct. I challenge anybody to get a different opinion from our people."
With the possibility of such a broad spectrum of debate, Dr. Mahama introduced the proceedings by excluding from his forum major issues of poverty, unemployment and personal well-being, all of which he described as being on decline for the average Ghanaian.
Dr. Mahama instead wanted to focus on other themes of national concern that he claimed would mobilise the nation and give Ghanaians a unifying aim.
In the eyes of the PNC, there are three priority areas for attention. He laid these out as: The need for a national objective to give form to government policies, the formulation of realistic targets for achieving the objective and strategies for the nation to become self-reliant.
