The Ashanti Police Directorate has interdicted four policemen for their involvement in illegal chain saw operations in Kumasi.

The affected police officers, whose names have been withheld, are said to have aided and abetted chainsaw operations to convey sawn lumber to Anloga timber market, using official police vehicles.

The Regional Police Commander, Mr. George Asiamah, who disclosed this at a REGSEC meeting in Kumasi reiterated that the police administration would not shield any officer who indulged in illegal activities.

Following, a three-member committee of enquiry has been inaugurated to investigate why police vehicles were used in the said operations and disclose the name of the brain behind the deal as well as the names of all those involved.
