The issue of payment of mechanical rights royalty and means to collect it for onward payment to the copyright owner or composer has been in the news recently with the introduction of new privately owned record identification label called gamugram owned by Gamugram Trust Ghana Ltd. This is not the first time efforts have been made to identify and pay right owners.
