ONLINE video clips are incredibly useful teaching tools but until recently, I didn't see much point in animated gifs. I like watching news video clips online, especially when it comes to debates and interviews, because there is so much more information available from body language and speech patterns.
Videos are also pretty good as teaching aids when teaching action. For example, I've been wanting to try to debone a chicken and use the meat and skin as a "sausage skin", that in turn is stuffed with onion, sage and apricots.
