The Philippine College of Physicians (PCP), the umbrella organization of specialists in internal medicine, said House Bill 4955, or the Medical Malpractice Act maligns and compromises the "art of healing" and undermines the physician's relationship with his patients.
A founding member of the Asean Federation of Internal Medicine, and a member of the International Society of Internal Medicine, PCP noted that fear of lawsuits will distort rational judgment in medical malpractice.
