MicroScribe G2 is the name of the latest line of 3D digitizing products from Immersion Corp., a developer of 3D and force-feedback products and technologies. The new MicroScribe G2 products provide faster data transfer and more portability than the company's previous models, allowing design engineers, game developers, animators, and others to physically capture the properties of a variety of 3D objects and convert them info digital 3D models.

Users create digital versions of physical objects by using the tip of the articulated arm of the MicroScribe device to trace the contours of an object such as a race car model, sculpture, or toy. The resulting data set can be transformed (using most 3D software applications) to an accurate digital rendering of the object.
