Retired Major General Paul Vallely (bottom right) returned on July 19th from a five-day fact-finding trip to Israel. What he discovered was even hard for this former 351st Civil Affairs Commander to take. While taking photographs on the Israeli-Lebanon border, General Vallely noted the Hezbollah flag flying openly next to the UN flag over the UN monitoring post (right). "You've got United Nations hosting Hezbollah, flying the Hezbollah flag," General Vallely told THE NEW AMERICAN. "The UN is supposed to be patrolling the area as a neutral force, but that's not what they're doing. The fact is that UN forces actually observed and did nothing when three Israel Defense Force members were kidnapped and murdered right by another UN compound. The Hezbollah terrorists cut the head off of one of the Israeli soldiers and made propaganda posters of it" (see bottom left of billboard). According to the general, in Lebanon, the UN is openly siding with Hezbollah terrorists who have murdered hundreds of Americans, UN monito rs look the other way as Hezbollah terrorists supported by Syria and Iran operate freely in supposedly neutral UN-patrolled areas.
