Your August 12th issue does a great job bringing to light many subtle socialist doctrines being foisted upon the American people through the incredibly popular Sci-Fi genre. One of the more obvious ties of Sci-Fi to globalism is Star Trek's Federation of Planets logo, which is nearly identical to those of the U.S.S.R. and the United Nations. Anyone else trying to pull something like this off would be charged with copyright infringement. The most offensive effort to fuse Sci-Fi with the American consciousness was the metaphor of Darth Vader as having the persona of both the Son of God and Satan, born of a virgin birth no less. This was one of the most insightful issues of THE NEW AMERICAN yet. Keep up the good work.

First of all I would like to congratulate William Norman Grigg for addressing a pivotal issue in our society in his article "Shaping Things to Come." I too have seen science fiction being used as a tool to promote globalism and am concerned about its effects on those I know. Thank you for addressing this topic so well.

Mr. Grigg brings up some interesting things about Star Wars that we should be wary of. However, I am inclined to defend George Lucas because I believe Star Wars has embodied what we as patriots are trying hardest to defend--our freedom. Instead of the "United Federation of Planets" of Star Trek that mirrors the United Nations, Star Wars has a "Galactic Republic" similar to our Constitution. It is because ...
