SEOUL, Sept 2 Asia Pulse - The region comprising China, Hong Kong and Taiwan has emerged as South Korea's biggest export market, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said Monday.
The nation's exports to the region this year came to US$23.76 billion as of August 20, representing 24.58 per cent of the country's entire exports. The proportion is bigger than 21.78 per cent recorded by the North American market, including the United States, and 12.93 per cent shown by the European Union (EU).
During the same period, the ratio of South Korea's exports to Japan dropped below the 10 per cent range.
