SYDNEY, Sept 2 Asia Pulse - Kerry Packer's Publishing and Broadcasting Ltd (ASX:PBL) is expected to show solid results when it unveils its annual results this week.
But the ongoing advertising slump is likely to have limited earnings.
Analysts expect the media giant to unveil a full year net profit of $A250-$A280 million ($US137.38-$US153.86 million) on Wednesday.
PBL itself has flagged a normalised result in line with the previous year, estimated to be $A280 million ($US153.86 million).
"I don't think there are going to be too many upside or downside surprises," one analyst said.
"I think they have kept the market pretty informed about how all the businesses are tracking."
In 2000/01, PBL slumped to an $A84.6 million ($US46.49 million) net loss after $A397 million ($US218.15 million) in writedowns largely due to its investment in One.Tel and a short-lived foray into India.
