PERTH, Sept 2 Asia Pulse - A northern Western Australia diamond mine is expected to generate more than $A100 million ($US54.95 million) in export earnings over the next three years.
Officially opening the Ellendale Diamond Mine today, West Australian premier Geoff Gallop said it had enormous earning potential given the buoyancy of world diamond prices.
Owned by the Kimberly Diamond Company, the Ellendale mine is the state's second diamond mine and will initially process about 700,00 tonnes of ore each year, resulting in a recovery of about 350,000 carats.
