TOKYO, Sept 2 Asia Pulse - Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi Junichiro will soon propose that Japan offer economic aid to North Korea instead of war compensation, a local daily reported Saturday.

Japanese vernacular Yomiuri Shimbun said that Koizumi will make the proposal Sept. 17 when he meets North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in Pyongyang.

Japan thinks that it is not in a position to offer war compensation ...
