TOPIC: A study conducted by researchers at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta found that children who grow up with pets in the house are less likely to develop common allergies, according to a CNN.com article. The study, which appears in the Journal of the American Association, followed the lives of 474 babies from birth to 7 years old. Researchers found that 184 of the infants who had pets in the home had fewer positive skin tests to indoor allergens than the 220 children who did not have pets.
