On the 10th anniversary of Sharp's Viewcam line of camcorders, the company has announced three new models, including the new VL-NZ100U digital camcorder. It is affordable ($699.95 MSRP), captures good-looking video with accurate color, and is very easy to operate. Very lightweight and small, one can easily tuck the NZ100U into a purse or a large pocket.

This compact Digital Video (DV) camcorder is a Combo-Cam that provides both DV and digital still recording modes. Like the Viewcams of old, the LCD viewfinder, battery and tape movement components are built into the camera body.

Of course, since the lens module can swivel, you can also shoot with the camera held above your head, down at your feet, or even in the standard in-front-of-your-face position.

The camcorder offers a bare minimum of buttons and controls on the camera body itself. On the LCD body, you will find buttons for the Brightness, Fade and Menu set. On the lens module, you…
