On the Other Hand ... is a collection of twelve sixteen-bar pieces written for one hand alone, allowing the elementary student the opportunity to concentrate on specific technical aspects such as dynamics, phrasing and articulation. While left-hand pieces are notated in the bass clef and right-hand pieces in the treble clef, fingerings are provided to define positions for both hands, and students are directed to adjust their sitting position on the bench or simply play in a higher or lower octave.
