Cell phone users who call friends and relatives on their wireless handsets to avoid hefty long-distance charges on their home phones may soon have another option.

Verizon, the predominant local phone service provider in Southwest Florida, launched a new communications package Tuesday that offers long-distance plans that look like wireless plans. The plans include unlimited night and weekend calling and other special features.

"Veriations All" bundles local, long-distance, wireless and DSL service on one bill. The plan is available now in parts of New York and Massachusetts and is expected to reach …
