The Nest of Birds motion tracker from Ascension Technology Corp. features a USB interface that is designed to make the system virtually plug and play. "You put a CD into a PC and it walks you through the setup." says Ascension's Greg Erdmann. "The system is designed for people who fall in between consumers and, professionals," says Erdmann, comparing it to Flock of Birds, the company's professional-level tracker that is both more powerful and more complicated to set up and to operate. The Nest of Birds is designed for interactive use over broadband connections, and the company cites VR, interactive gaming, and virtual Web presences as target applications.
