OAKLAND: Camron -- Stanford House (1876), 1418 Lakeside Drive, on the shores of Lake Merritt. Prominent families have lived in the Italianate Victorian until 1906 when it was transformed into the Oakland Public Museum for 56 years. Now a house museum, the interior reflects decorative arts of 1876-1883. House and garden available for special events. Tours $2 senior/junior, $4 adults, under 12 free. PASADENA: The Gamble House, 1908, 4 Westmoreland Place, 91103. A National Historic Landmark that is the internationally recognized masterpiece of the turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts Movement in America.
