THE STAR
- Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has struck an agreement with Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and independent power producers (IPPs) to share the increased cost of electricity generation owing to a gas shortage.
- Most analysts have welcomed the restructuring plan unveiled by Malaysia Airlines (MAS) on Tuesday to enable it to return to profitability by its financial year (FY) ending March 31, 2003.
- Tanjong Public Ltd Co, through its subsidiary Tanjong Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd, has proposed to privatise Powertek Bhd by making a voluntary general offer to acquire the remaining 39.8 million shares in Powertek it does not already own for RM338.4mil cash or RM8.50 per share.
- A failure by property developers to carry out detailed market surveys has resulted in a serious overhang in residential property supply, according to Jurunilai Bersekutu principal Sultan Mydin Ibrahim.
