SEOUL, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - The National Institute of Health (NIH) today said the number of mosquitoes carrying Japanese encephalitis, which had remained steady until June, has been rising sharply since early last month.
The NIH, which has been testing mosquitoes twice a week from 10 areas nationwide, said that 76 mosquitoes, or 1.7 per cent of the 4,434 collected during the first week of July, were found to contain the deadly virus.
