SEOUL, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Seoul stocks stayed weak Thursday despite stabilizing U.S. markets.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) stood at 714.29 as of 9:30 a.m., down 3.70 points or 0.51 per cent from Wednesday's close.
Trading was weak with volume totaling 217 million shares through that time for a turnover of 317 billion won (US$260 million). However advancers led decliners 376 to 288 with 89 unchanged.
In the United States, the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.65 per cent to 8,736.59 overnight, on a last-minute rally, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 1.18 per cent to 1,328.27. The S&P500 index rose 0.98 per cent to 911.62.
