Abstract

Lakota Early Childhood Center (LECC) incorporates laptime activities for children with moderate to severe delays who are included in the integrated preschool setting. Moderate to severe delays can be defined as having a low mental age combined with significant deficits in the area of pre-academics, communication, self-help and fine/gross skills. Laptime takes the place of morning circle for these children. Laptime is a structured environment that allows these children to further develop their skills.
