Abstract
This paper explores `dance' as a metaphor to rethink what teaching means. It builds on comments offered by four elementary teachers who were asked about their experience with students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. In the literature, teachers appear cut off from their own experience. Quotes from these teachers are used to illustrate `dance as practice.' In viewing teaching as dancing, the teaching experience is recontextualized.
