Seeds of service learning.
Abstract
This article describes how a new professor and a group of pre-service teachers used a service-learning project to facilitate their healing process and assist in the nations humanitarian efforts following the World Trade Center bombing. Service-learning is defined and a project planning process is outlined. Pre-service teachers share new insights into the part of teaching that only experience can offer.
