VADODARA: A day after the chairman of Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union, Ramesh Patel, goaded farmers at its AGM to raise their voice against the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) over the issue of use of the Amul brand name, the federation said it is all ready to strike back.
It warned that it will promote Dhara and make it as much a household name that Amul is today across the nation.
Following Patel's threat to severe ties with the GCMMF, federation chairman Verghese Kurien told TNN, "I had a discussion with him over the issue and told him that we can work the same wonders with Dhara if he had reservations over us promoting the Amul logo. I told him that it is better that he recognises the value of family members working together."
Surprisingly, the issue was not even discussed at the AGM of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) on Saturday.
