: The Congress high command has decided against going in for frequent changes of the KPCC President, thereby indicating present incumbent Allum Veerabhadrappa's continuation.

AICC sources told The Times of India over telephone here on Sunday that party President Sonia Gandhi was firm about it. ``We can't be having a president every year. Any change now will lead to another round of speculation on the new person,'' they said.

Sources said Veerabhadrappa did approach the high command seeking a berth in the cabinet. ``We advised him to continue as KPCC President,'' they added.
