: Visitors to the 113-year-old Azad Maidan police station will no longer have to sit on wooden benches as they wait their turn to be heard.
They will be greeted at a reception desk and led to a waiting room with sleek furniture and sofas.
The new-look police station was inaugurated by police commissioner M.N. Singh and Shiv Sena leader Pramod Navalkar on Saturday evening.
The police station has been equipped with a modern gym, rest room, dining hall, indoor games room and changing room for women. The walls of the police station have been painted in yellow and blue, and it has a new water cooler. However, the police station still lacks proper toilets.
