The post office plans to raise its fees and increase its efficiency to become profitable after privatisation, according to a report in Krungthep Turakij.

When the Communications Authority of Thailand (CAT) privatises, the post office will be made into a separate company with an initial registered capital of about 750 million baht. It will be held 100 per cent by the Ministry of Finance. The post office will not apply to list on the stock exchange until after it has improved its business operations.
