: The high court on Thursday stayed a government order allotting two acres of Bangalore University land to a private educational institute.

Justice N Kumar stayed the April 8 government order, issued by Special Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) S N Nagaraj, finalising provisional allotment of two acres in survey number 32 to Kanyakumari Vidya Samsthe.

The case dates back to 1974 when the government provisionally allotted 15 acres of land in survey number 32 to BU. In 1993, the revenue department conducted a resurvey, allotted two acres of land to KVS and said only 13 acres belonged to BU.
