: Four employees of KEM Hospital were suspended on Thursday after a deceased person's family found that their relative's body had been handed over to someone else.

The body had already been cremated when the matter came to light.

Worli BDD chawl resident Anil Parihar, 37, suffered a heart attack on Wednesday. He taken to Podar Hospital, where he was declared dead. His body was taken to KEM Hospital for a post-mortem in the early hours of Thursday.

Since post-mortems are not conducted between sunrise and sunset, the mortuary staff asked Parihar's family to collect the body in the morning.
