: The Delhi municipal corporation (MCD) will now take professional advice to increase participation in projects dealing with waste management, land-use, urban transport and urban social welfare.
The corporation recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Infrastructure Development Finance Company Limited (IDFC), a central government body. The IDFC will give advice in various work areas.
According to MCD commissioner Rakesh Mehta, the IDFC will also help financing projects which will be started on the company's advice. The proposal was passed by the standing committee on Wednesday. A senior MCD official said: ''A committee comprising representatives from the IDFC and the MCD will be formed to take decisions on the projects.''
