Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - Five months after it became legal tender, Euro, the European Union currency is yet to make a significant in-road into the Nigerian economy, financial experts said.

A PANA check revealed that transactions in Euro is still imited to the informal sector of the Nigerian money market.

Even at the informal (parallel) market, Euro-based transactions are few.

Samuel Ibrahim, Manager, Standard Bureau de Change in Lagos, said his recorded transactions in the European currency since January had not exceeded 30,000 Euro.
