CHANDIGARH: Punjab Lok Pal justice DV Sehgal has indicted former education minister Tota Singh and recommended scrapping the selection of 100 science teachers by taking appropriate legal action as these were based not on merit but on ''collateral and extraneous considerations.''

These recommendations, along with others, have been forwarded to Punjab governor Lt Gen (retd) JFR Jacob on a complaint preferred by Nisha Kaura, who was rejected by the selection committee.

Kaura, a gold-medalist in MSc from Panjab University, had alleged that the selected candidates had paid Tota Singh's son Makhan Singh Rs 2.5 lakh and those desirous of getting the station of …
