Nairobi paper criticises Kenya over Libyan weightlifters.

Nairobi, Kenya (PANA) - A leading Kenyan newspaper, the Daily Nation, has criticised the government for turning back the Libyan contingent to the just-ended Africa Weightlifting Championship in Nairobi.

Much as the government says it denied the Libyans entry into the country for allegedly failing to comply with immigration rules, the paper takes strong exception to the development in the strongly worded opinion column, saying "there is more to the move than it meets the eye".

Internal security minister, Julius Sunkuli, attributed the problem to Libya's failure to apply for visas in advance.
