Democratic Alliance chairman Joe Seremane on Wednesday condemned the Zimbabwe government for its continued harassment of journalists. Seremane, reacting to the arrest of a Andrew Meldrum, a correspondent for London's Guardian newspaper on Wednesday morning, said Zimbabwe's "draconian" Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act would only destabilise that country and undermine democracy and human rights further. "The question is: What is the South African government going to do about it?" he said. "President Mugabe's regime has trampled on the values and principles enshrined in our Constitution which we all hold dear." ...
